There are about 13 different beaches in Phuket, each beach has its own charm and personality, so to speak. Depending on what you’re looking for, you can choose to visit any of the beaches and see what they can offer. Patong Beach is known for its nightlife, with its bars, clubs, and restaurants. If you’re looking for evening drinks, loud music, and fun, Patong beach is definitely where you should be headed when the sun goes down.
If, on the hand you’re looking for some peace, quiet and serenity for you to just sit back and enjoy the joy of being on vacation, you can go to one of the best kept secrets of Phuket, Nai Thon beach. Nai Thon is accessible by driving along the coastal road, and is rarely visited by tourists so unless more people read this article, you shouldn’t find too many others sharing the white sand paradise with you.
Now if you’ve got the financial capability to gain access to the more exclusive getaways in Phuket, you can check around Surin beach, also known as “millionaires’ row”, with resorts like Amanpuri and Twin Palms, you can be pampered and live in the lap of luxury as you enjoy Phuket’s natural beauty. Pansea is also an exclusive beach accessible only to the guests of Amanpuri and the Chedi Resort.
Looking for something more active in your vacation? Well you can head over to Kamala beach for snorkeling and feasting on the local cuisine. Nai Harn beach is also an ideal spot for swimming and snorkeling but be sure to avoid the area during the monsoon season as the waves can get rough. Ya Nui beach is where one can if you’re interested in more active water sports. Ya Nui is located in the shadow of Phrom Thep, it’s got stall which rent out all sorts of equipment, from kayaks, body boards and snorkels and fins.
